Basic bHosted Instructions
Answering Calls
You may answer an incoming call in any of several ways depending on how
you prefer to operate your phone: via handset, speaker, or a
headset.
Answering Options
- Via Handset – Simply pick up the handset.
- Via Speakerphone –Press the speaker
button.
- Via Headset –With
headset mode active, press either the headset
button on the phone, or the button on your
actual headset.
- To verify whether headset mode is active: Look for the headset
icon and text alert on your
phone's home screen.
- You can activate or deactivate headset mode by pressing the
headset button.
Using the Answer Soft Key
Pressing the Answer soft key during an
incoming call will answer the call using the speakerphone
unless headset mode is enabled or the handset is
off-hook.
(Pressing the Answer soft key with headset mode enabled will answer via
the headset.)
About Call Forwarding
Call forwarding allows an incoming call to be sent elsewhere.
Enabling/Disabling Call Forward via Softkey
- Press the Call Forward softkey.
- A message, “Call Forward: Disabled”, now appears on
your phone screen.
- Click either the Select softkey or √ (checkmark) button to enable
Call Forwarding.
- A black entry field appears onscreen. Using the keypad, input the
telephone number to which you’d like to forward your calls, and
press the Done button.
- You can now see that Call Forward is enabled with the number you
just defined. You can press the Change button to toggle this
back to disabled.
- Note: A red lamp appears next to the Call Forward softkey when the
feature is activated. The lamp turns green when the feature is
deactivated.
Setting Call Forward Presets via Softkey
- Press the Call Forward softkey.
- Once inside the “Call Forward” application, press the
Presets button.
- From here, you can highlight options for Home, Cell and Office.
Then, press the Change button to edit or define your presets.
- Enter in the number and press the Done button.

About Call History
Besides viewing your call history & call details, you can also use
the Call History module to add numbers to your directory, making outgoing
calls, and even to blacklist numbers from which you do not wish to
receive calls.
Instructions
Navigating Call History
- View Call History –
Press the History softkey.
Your "All Calls" list will be shown by default.
- Choose a List – Use the < and >
(left and right arrow) buttons to choose your desired list:
All Calls, Missed Calls, Received Calls, Dialed Calls, and
Forwarded Calls.
- Navigating Within a List – Once you've
chosen a list use the Λ or V (up and down arrow) buttons to navigate
up & down within it and to highlight individual calls.
- Viewing Call Options – Once a call is
highlighted press the Options softkey for further options, such as
viewing detailed call info or options for saving the number to your
personal Directory.
Dialing From The List
- Use the Λ or V (up and down arrow) buttons to select a call from
the list.
- Press the Send soft key or press the √ (checkmark) button. An
outbound call will be placed immediately.
- Note: You can also dial from the call detail screen using
the Dial soft key or the √ (checkmark) button.
Saving a Number
You can save contact information from your Call History list to your
personal Directory.
- Using the Λ or V (up and down arrow) buttons highlight the number
you want to add to your Directory.
- With the call highlighted press the Options softkey & to
bring up the green submenu.
- Arrow down to Option 3: Add to Contacts – then press the OK
soft key or the √ (checkmark) button to select.
- Press the History softkey. Your "All Calls" list will be
shown by default.
- Use the < and > (left and right arrow) buttons to choose
your desired list: All Calls, Missed Calls, Received Calls, Dialed
Calls, and Forwarded Calls.
- Use the Λ or V (up and down arrow) buttons to navigate up &
down within your chosen list and to highlight individual calls.
Deleting Lists
- From the main Call History screen use the < and >
(left and right arrow) buttons to select the list you wish to
delete (All Calls, Missed Calls, Received Calls, Dialed Calls,
or Forwarded Calls).
- Press the Option Softkey.
- From the Options menu arrow down to highlight &
Option 5: Delete All.
- Press the OK soft key to delete the list.
Blacklisting a Number
The bHosted blacklist allows you to disable incoming calls from any caller
id. The blacklist blocks callers across the entire bHosted system.
- To blacklist the last caller, dial *32.
- To blacklist a specific number, dial *30 and the system will walk
you through blocking any number.
- To remove a number from the blacklist, dial *31 and system will walk
you through unblocking any number.
Contacts Feature Overview
Pressing the Contacts softkey on your phone will bring up a list of all
the pre-loaded company contact groups, which are created by the
Administrator. (For information on how to save personal contacts to your
own Directory, please refer to the
Call History page.)
Instructions
Dialing Contacts
- Press the Contacts softkey on your
phone.
- Select a Contact Group.
- Use the up and down arrow buttons to highlight the user you are
looking for. Then, press Select.
- From here you will see all the numbers set for this user. Highlight
the one you want to call and press Dial* to place the call.
- *Note: If you simply wish to view
information such as contact's title, company and email address,
press the "Details" button instead of the Dial button.
Searching For Users
- From the home page of the Contacts application, press the Search
button.
- Next, enter in your search criteria and press Done.
- You'll then see all of the users that start with your search
criteria.
- Complete the call or view details similar to the example above.
DND Overview
With Do Not Disturb mode active, incoming calls will not ring your
extension, but will instead be routed to your voicemail or another
extension as defined by the Administrator – or, in the case of
bHosted Advanced users, as defined by your
Endpoint Settings
in the User Control Panel.
Instructions
Enabling/Disabling Do Not Disturb via Softkey
- Press the DND softkey on your phone.
- From here you can see the Enabled field is set to either
“Yes” or “No”.
- Press the “Change” softkey to achieve your desired
setting.

Ending a Call
You can end a call in any of the following ways:
- If using the handset – Hang up the handset or
press the Cancel softkey.
- If using speakerphone – Press the Speaker
button.
- If using a headset – Press the Cancel soft
key.
